This small group of Islands in the Outer Gulf lies in deep waters exposed to the currents of the South Pacific. With a complex and vertical topography of shear walls and protected shallow bays this is a veritable divers playground with something for all levels of experience. Over an hours hard motoring to get to, this less visited area has an 'expedition' feeling to it and the landscape is 'avatar-esque' with unusually clear waters.
To get to 'the Moks', we depart Omaha Boat Ramp and transit via Little Barrier. A weather determination is made at the mid-point and Little Barrier is the alternate location should the sea state not be appropriate to continue to the Mokohinaus.
